Seems like it’d be a nice place thematically to tie a bow on it, but who knows what kinds of ideas they might still have for the game. Maybe this expansion is just another milestone marker, but the return to the core of the game (Europe, HRE, the Catholic faith, etc) almost feels like coming around full circle. I know they’ve said they’ll do it once they want to take a series in a different direction, just makes me wonder if they’ve hit that point with their older titles (CK2 and EU4) yet. It hasn’t happened yet but it must eventually. The question I’ve had since they started their business model with CK2 is when they call it quits on a particular title. Makes me wonder if this is the last expansion for EU4? That just ties into the speculation in other threads about what the new GSG they’re announcing next week is going to be. The giant big whopper of an EU4 expansion is out next year which he described as a “fan service” in his farewell. He started designing expansions with Rights of Man and has been the head honcho for EU4 for the past several expansions.
